About Smart Estate Guide
Smart Estate Guide is a private concierge for owners of exceptional homes. We help you plan smart home, theater, lighting and audio projects, find the installer who does it right, and get a fair price. We're independent, we're free to homeowners, and we stay with you until you're confident.
Why we exist
Owners at this level rarely have time to research installers, sit through sales pitches and compare quotes. Directories hand your number to a list of contractors and let them compete for your attention.
We do the opposite. We do the legwork, introduce you only to installers who fit your home and your system, and negotiate on your behalf, so the only decision left for you is which option you like best.
Who's behind it
Smart Estate Guide was founded by Omar Catlin, who has spent more than 15 years advising on smart home and audio-video systems. He handles every request personally, checks each installer's state license himself, and stays involved until the right installer is chosen.
How we work
- We vet. Every installer's state license, checked on the state's own lookup, their certification for your system, and homes like yours they've finished.
- We coordinate. If you're building, we work with your architect and builder so the smart home is designed into the plans.
- We arrange. Consultations at the home, aboard, or by video from wherever you are this season.
- We negotiate. We compare proposals line by line and push for the best price on the system you want.
- We stay. Want another view? We set up the next consultation, until you're confident.
How we're paid
Installers pay us a referral fee only when a project goes ahead. You never pay us anything, and you're never obliged to hire anyone we introduce.
